Blueprints are documentation of technology for constructing colony buildings or creating ship designs. The blueprints you know determine the options offered to you in these interfaces. Each blueprint has a unique set of properties, and credit and resource cost.

Researching and trading blueprints is a central aspect for your success.


You are given a free limited set of very basic blueprints that allow you survive early on. They are cheap, but ineffective, and cannot compete with higher level research results.


The blueprints interface will show you all the prints you know. It will also alert you to your own inventions you have not yet named. Here you can also delete technology no longer required, both to keep your list more manageable and to reduce storage fees. Keep in mind that prints no longer known to anyone will be up for purchase at the IGTA Archives.


You can either share a blueprint directly or offer it on the market from the blueprint interface. It is also possible to share prints in bulk by sending a tech disclosure dispatch.

Hybrid blueprints are rare research results created by very ingenious researchers. They combine the properties of similar technology and can be both, very beneficial or just decoration.


Crimson blueprints are alien technology from the extinct Crimson Moon Accord found during exploration. They have a unique combination of properties and cannot be researched. They include both hybrid mines and specialized ship hulls.
